I have reviewed my freelance writing business now that I am five months in, and with the exception of a few minor tweaks and adjustments, I see no need to make sweeping changes or resolutions.
My freelance writing business didn’t come with a business plan. It was borne out of necessity. I was homeless, stranded in a foreign country with no way to get home. I had to do something. And in a few short months I had a business that I intend to maintain and grow. This business – along with the help of a few wonderful friends – has kept me sane and fed. Well, fed, anyway!
On the subject of New Year’s resolutions, I wrote this post earlier today over at LadyBlog. Don’t waste your years waiting for December 31 to make changes. Change yourself today and tomorrow and every day of the year that you feel you need it.
Have a wonderful New Year everyone. I’ll see you all in 2009.

Five months is a great start to a new business and if you can make it past the one-year mark, you’ll have outlasted most new businesses. Good luck to you and Happy New Year!
